Woman Charged With Prostitution At Hudson Valley Business

A 49-year-old woman was arrested on prostitution charges on Tuesday by East Fishkill police at a business in the Taconic Plaza off Route 52 in Hopewell Junction.

Police said they investigated illegal activity at the Unique Beauty Spa.

East Fishkill detectives assisted by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force arrested Wai Yee Chu of New York City.

Chu was arrested after providing a massage and offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer. She was the only person present in the business at the time and determined to be the owner/operator.

It was determined that Chu did not have the required N.Y. State Massage Therapy License. Chu was processed at the East Fishkill Police station and charged with Practicing a Profession Without a License, a felony, and Prostitution, a misdemeanor.

She was arraigned before East Fishkill Judge Brian Rudner and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000. cash bail or $10,000. bond pending her return to East Fishkill Court at a later date.
